Super Cruise equipped vehicles have had their fair share of issues and GM has released a fix for one of them. If you are seeing a message on the dash that reads "Service Drivers Assist" and a code stored, B2BA1, you may be in luck. To retrieve these codes, one would need a professional scan tool that can access the K179 Automated Driving Mapping Module ( High Definition Localization Module ) and the K124 Image Processing Module ( External Object Calculation Module )

THE FIX: Technicians are advised to Update the K179 Automated Driving Mapping Module (HDLM) and the K124 Image Processing Module (EOCM) software.

THE BAD NEWS: The coverage of this update is limited to the bumper to bumper warranty of the vehicle.

Vehicles Covered:

2022 - 2023 Escalade / ESV

2023 - 2024 Silverado 1500 / LD

2023 - 2024 Sierra 1500 / Limited

2022 - 2023 Suburban

2022 - 2023 Tahoe

2022 - 2023 Yukon / XL

This update is limited to vehicles with RPO code: UKL

Super Cruise is a driver assistance feature that enhances Adaptive Cruise Control by allowing hands-free driving under compatible highway driving conditions while helping prompt the driver to pay close attention to the road so they are ready to take control. The Active Safety Control Module 1 is the primary control module for Super Cruise operation, while Active Safety Control Module 2 is a redundant control module for backup operation.
